Follow these steps to properly install the new DR620 drum unit into your compatible Brother printer.
- Unpack the Drum Unit: Carefully remove the new DR620 drum unit from its packaging. Retain all packaging materials for proper disposal.
- Power Off the Printer: Ensure your Brother printer is turned off and unplugged from the power outlet to prevent any electrical hazards.
- Open the Front Cover: Open the front cover of your printer to access the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly.
- Remove the Old Drum Unit: Grasp the handle of the old drum unit and toner cartridge assembly and pull it out of the printer.
- Separate Toner from Old Drum: Place the old drum unit assembly on a clean, flat surface. Press the green lock lever (usually located on the left side of the drum unit) and remove the toner cartridge from the old drum unit.
- Install Toner into New Drum: Insert the toner cartridge firmly into the new DR620 drum unit until you hear it lock into place. Ensure the green lock lever lifts automatically.
- Clean the Corona Wire: Gently slide the green tab on the new drum unit back and forth several times to clean the corona wire. Return the tab to the home position (indicated by an arrow) after cleaning. Failure to return the tab to the home position may result in vertical streaks on printed pages.
- Insert New Drum Unit Assembly: Place the new drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back into the printer. Push it in until it stops.
