The Mi-Heat aluminum heating mat is designed for dry installation, making it suitable for floating floor coverings. This section outlines the general steps for installation. Always consult a qualified electrician for electrical connections.

5.1. Preparation of the Subfloor

• Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, level, and free from sharp objects.
• Install appropriate impact sound insulation (3-5mm recommended) over the subfloor.

5.2. Laying the Heating Mat

• Unroll the aluminum heating mat over the impact sound insulation.
• To change direction or fit the mat around obstacles, only cut the support fabric network. Do not cut the heating cable itself.
• Use the aluminum tape to secure the mat sections and ensure good thermal contact.
• Ensure the heating cables are evenly spaced and do not overlap.

5.3. Thermostat and Sensor Installation

• Install the E51 digital thermostat in a standard electrical box at a suitable height on the wall.
• Route the external floor sensor cable through one of the corrugated pipes and place the sensor centrally between two heating cables, ensuring it is not directly over a heating element. The corrugated pipe allows for future replacement of the sensor.
• Route the heating mat's connection cable through the second corrugated pipe to the thermostat.
• Connect the heating mat, floor sensor, and power supply to the thermostat according to the wiring diagram provided with the thermostat. This must be done by a qualified electrician.

5.4. Final Flooring Installation

Once the heating mat and thermostat are installed and tested, you can proceed with laying your chosen floating floor covering (laminate, parquet, vinyl on HDF backing) directly over the aluminum heating mat. 6. E51 Digital Thermostat Operation

The E51 digital thermostat provides precise control over your underfloor heating system with various features for comfort and energy efficiency.
