- Before first use, fully charge the 20V lithium battery using the provided charger. Connect the charger to a standard power outlet and then to the battery. The indicator light on the charger will show charging status.

- Re-attach the side cover, but do not fully tighten the retaining nut yet.
- Adjust the chain tensioning screw until the chain is snug against the guide bar but can still be pulled freely by hand. There should be a small amount of play (approx. 2-3mm) when pulled away from the guide bar at its midpoint.
- Once tensioned, fully tighten the retaining nut.
- Add chain lubricant to the designated reservoir (if applicable) or manually apply to the chain before use.
